I knew lot of patrons are looking forward for this post, however at the same time some were already educated about this.  But, this post will be real benefit for patrons who are keen to improve their Windows performances and increase system response time and decrease system load timings.

Lot of general Windows users tend to delete temp, %TMP% and PREFETCH files to see if that action does anything they were expecting. Well, the news is, that really doesn’t help much, but I must admit that, it is the Real First Step you should consider doing, when you felt that your Windows is slow. What really that does is: deleting the tmp, %TMP%, and Prefetch files frees up the some portion of your RAM Cache Memory and Windows Partition Disk space. You can start with these approaches, but you should continue the remaining steps to control your Windows completely about it’s performance.

You type the below commands and Delete the Items listed there. Use SHIFT+DELTE Combinations to delete permanently items from your computer.

temp tmp prefetch prefetch2Remember that to Access Prefetched Items in your Windows, You need Admin Rights. And as you can Imagine, this deletes the temporary files and files those were ready to access files for some applications will be cleared off. But that really does no help in performance improvement, where in some cases the Applications those relying on temp files and prefetched files will load up slow to get all the DATA again from the applications data from hard disk and put on into RAM for access.

So, to get the real benefit from performance improvement, follow the rest steps below.

You really should use MSCONFIG to suppress some of the Applications and services those put System Start-up pressures and eventually runs in the background unnecessarily eating much of your Valuable RAM. So, what MSCONFIG really does is, it will give control to handle, which applications are allowed along with system starts and which will not.

msconfig

Once you hit Enter in your Command prompt with MSCONFIG typed, this Dialog Box opens up. The Services Tab in there will list the services which will be started up whilst Windows Boots up!. Remember that, the Dialog box initially loads with Normal Startup as the Startup Selection, what you need to do is, you should select the Selective Startup Radio Button and Navigate to Services and Startup Tabs in Dialog Box presented.

msconfig 3msconfig services

Here, the Services which were presented are allowed to start at Windows Load times. What you really need to do is, Untick the services which were not part of Microsoft Services; tick the Hide All Microsoft Services and Isolate the services to start at System Loads. Remember this window is representing the Windows 8 settings and Windows 7 or xp or vista are real similar, except the Startup Items are moved to Task manager in Windows 8 and 7 and previous Windows Versions remain same, having control in the same MSCONFIG settings.

msconfig 2

Look at the above Picture, I have hidden all the Microsoft Services, to not to accidentally disable any Windows sort of Services, allowing myself to not to boot into system with required services disabled. :0 Here I have disabled lot of services except Apple Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device; where These are required for iTunes to detect your iPhone or iPad when you connect to your Computer. Other Few services I allowed here are ExpressCache, where cache improves my startup times and ESET is my antivirus programme, which shall not be disabled; any antivirus program shall not be disabled to protect PC.
msconfig startupThe above image tells that to handle the startup items, we need to use task manager and restrict the applications from starting up. See the below images.

win8 startupSo, I have navigated to Windows 8 task manager to handle the Application startup restrictions. In Windows 7 and Vista, 7 the MSCONFIG will present you the same options there. Here you need to carefully disable the Applications those were not really useful. For example, here in the above image I have disabled all the applications except Windows Host Process, Realtek HD Audio Manager and igfxtray applications, however you can disable the Igrfxtray as well, but remember to not to disable the Windows required applications.

You can also, increase your System Performance by moving you SWAP file aka PAGE file from your Windows Disk to Another DIsk (I said Different Disk, not Different Partition. Remember, moving to another partition doesn’t help you). See the below Screenshots on how to change the SWAP file settings. Here i have not moved the Page File to different Disk, because I don’t have any, rather I manually controlled the Virtual Memory of Windows Drive, where you can increase the Virtual Memory as you desire instead of Windows handling it to 2 Times RAM. These VM settings can be accessed through System Properties-> Advanced System Settings-> Advanced Tab-> Performance settings -> Advanced Tab then on and Selecting the Virtual Memory Settings in the Advanced Window Opened. And then Untick the Automatically Manage Paging file Size for all drives and select Drive you were interested and select Custom Size and increase the value as you desire.

VM Settings

And once these steps are implemented, the next steps to Do is to handle the Windows System Settings to disable some Graphical settings to get most out of our PC.

Go to your Computer and Select system Properties. – Right click on Windows and Select Properties from the Context Menu, which will take you to the System Info Dialog Box. See the below Screenshot:

System Settings screenAnd then Click on Advanced System Settings here in this Windows and Go to Advanced Tab from the Window Opened. From there, Click on Performance Settings Button, which will take you to the Performance Options Windows with Visual Effects Tab selected. Click on Adjust from best Performance from there and select those you were really interested. What this does is, discouraging the Windows to use Graphical Representation and saves some RAM for us. Here I have not changed anything, because my Windows is Perfectly A-OK with 16 Gigs of RAM and Tuneup UP and running for me (oh! what is tuneup? Look at this post finish lines)

performance settings

Now, Finally these steps will put you in lot better standings than earlier. Reboot and See if these changes have improved your Windows performance.

You can/might use CCCleaner sort of things for improvements. But My favorite part is here it comes… The Tuneup Utilities Application. I love this literally and I really encourage to use it for real performance improvements.

tuneup

tuneup 2

Remember to Answer all the Tuneup Asked questions to best improve the performance. It will handle all the Registry cleaning, Defragmenting,  Disabling Application background processes and Hell lot of others… It will really pull out all the potential your Windows Has.

Thank you for your real Patience, going through all these hell lot of wordings.

Cheers! CHALADI

There can be cases, where when you try to join your client computer to a Domain, it gets authenticated with the Domain Access rights, but Throws error saying “Network Location Cannot Be Reached ”

Microsoft KB says: Enable the TCP/IP Netbios Helper Service  in Services.msc.  But if that service is already up and running, then that KB is invalid.

Follow this procedure to isolate the issue straight away. See the below screenshots for precise referencing.

Enable all the protocols for the Network Adapter you are trying to establish the Connection to the Domain.  enable all the Protocols like Link layer topology and others as seen in the 2nd screenshot.

Hello All, Windows 8 has made it’s mark into market and I see some are comfortable using Metro UI and Some not; maybe they are Apple Fans after all 🙂

So, I’ve decided to contribute little myself to this new Microsoft Product.

So, When First Logged On The Windows Key Doesn’t work for you. You have to Press Either “Win+M” or Desktop From Metro Interface,
So you can stat using Windows Key to switch between Opened Windows And Metro UI.

So Try this Keys… “Windows+M”

“Windows+C” for Right Hand Side Options Menu  Aka Charms bar

“Windows+I” for Settings

“Windows+D” for Desktop

“Windows+F” for Searching Files and Programs

“Windows+H” Share Currently Selected File With list of Programs

“Windows+K” Second screen Option

“Windows+P” Projecting Screen

“Windows+Y” Ease of Access Conter

“Windows+R” Start the Run

“Windows+E” Open Explorer. Open Computer Window in DesktopUI

“Windows+Q” Shows list of All Applications installed on your PC – Search utility

Try above shortcuts to save your time and get comfortable using New Windows 8, which was a Shift in Microsoft’s Tradition. Welcome such New Features and Improvements.

Thanks, Chaladi

You Can Always Disable AutoPlay for a USB or CDs or Portable Hard Disks Manually, by Holding Down the Shift Key and Inserting the Media. But some find it useless, tired, irritated or wanted to Get rid of AutoPlay Completely for the Sake of Simplicity, Avoiding Autoplay Popup Windows or To Avoid Auto-executing the Scripts those were in Media.

To Apply this Permanent Solution, getting rid of AutoPlay, Simply Deselect the AutoPlay Feature from Control Panel; Follow this Navigation in your Windows to achieve this settings visible from Below Screenshot

Goto Start Menu-> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound-> AutoPlay” and there you can Deselect the use AutoPlay for All Media and Devices, or You can Manually input settings for Individual Media types to act accordingly by the Media Type. Suppose for CDs to AutoPlay, but USBs to not, You can tell the Same here in settings.

Invalid IPA

Update: In the Interest to Save Time, Try downloading a different version of IPA App if possible and comfortable to do so, to increase the chances of installing IPA successfully.
It is no surprise, that Most Installous Users face this Error at certain point of time. So how to fix this annoying error solution is this post all about.
The primary error cause can be narrowed down based on considering different factors or activities we follow to download the IPA file. First off, if you were downloading on a slow internet, the chances are the file is corrupt or partially downloaded and still shows successfully downloaded message. It can be the same situation even with high speed internet, if the file is corrupt at hosting level. So work around for this is to download the file from Different source. So now I will concisely give you steps of workarounds to fix errors starting with bare minimum foolish assumptions to advanced level fixes.
1- Try re downloading the same file from a entirely different source
2- try Downloading the Application with different version; old or new version
3- Try installing the app from computer comfort, ifunbox or, Xilisoft ipad Magic Platinum or Syncios
4- Turn WIFI off and ON again and try installing again with the new IPA file
5- Remove Syncapps from Cydia and Reboot and Reinstall Syncapps for your IOS
6- Completely Remove Installous from Cydia and Reinstall it after Reboot
Majority of errors are/will be fixed when re-downloading the file from a different source or different version. So I highly recommend to download a file without any pauses and file corruption possibilities.
Hope this helps, some tired Tweakers.
Thanks – Chaladi

Update: This Method Actually Formats the whole capacity and Will require you to restore your IPOD to factory settings. This is for erasing the Games and some stupid content in IPOD, and freeing up Space for mush desired Music and Videos or required

Hey Guys! Now it’s time to wordpress a situation about Ipod Nano being unrecognized in iTunes or/and Windows Explorer, where nothing ahead we can proceed to make use of IPod. For this process to be able to succeed, we need to see the Device partially recognised, means device is Visible in greyed out or hidden like Volume mounted in Windows Explorer, but when tried to access the disk, it says, Please insert a disk, something like that message. this is to format the Whole iPOD and bring out new fresh IPOD. But if you wish to make use of data in the iPOD, just uninstall the drivers for IPOD in Device Manager and Re-install or scan for new hardware changes being installed itunes and connected to internet for better drivers install.

So, how exactly to solve this problem; here it follows. Once you are confident that the volume is recognised, but cannot access the disk either itunes way or volume way in Windows, you have to go to Command Prompt in Windows by pressing Windows+R key together to start a run dialog box and press CMD in there. or type cmd in Start search box and hit enter. Once you are there at the elevated command prompt type the following commands to check whether your iPOD is recognised as a volume disk or not “cd: F:” Pleas note that, here F is the Disk that Ipod has been granted to mount on Windows. It varies as per your system. To make sure what is your Disk name, check the Windows before connecting IpOD and later , to see the newly mounted Disk. Once confirmed that its the only Disk of IPOD, proceed with the given Disk LEtter

if it says the volume is there but not recognised or corrupted, then with the confident that F or the Given Disk letter, Proceed to format the volume disk with the following commands

“format F:”

Once the command is successfully passed onto IPOD Disk, the Formatting option will start formatting the drive with the New EXFAT file system, that will format the drive and will help you recover the iPOD disk back to working in itunes and Windows being recognised.

Hope this help some frustrated Patrons.

Thank you. any further info or queries, happy to help through comments made here.

Update: Recover Lost Password Directly Without Needing to Moving Locked Files Read This Post Recover Gallery Lock (pro) Password

Hello, This Post is all about Recovering Locked files from Gallery Lock (pro) Application In Android, in cases like Forgot Password and security Answer. This post helps you recover files easily from either Desktop Comfort or from within Mobile comfort. The files once locked with Gallery Lock are stored in Application Specific Directory; that is Data Directory in the Phone’s Memory.

Check the below screenshots:

ImageImage

Once You accessed the Data Directory of gallery Lock, the Protected Folder is presented, which contains the locked files with the .glk extension. All you have to do is, cut them all; needed files and paste to some other folder (You need to move the files, because later if you ever wanted to lock the files again or just wanted to uninstall the Application; you will be in big trouble loosing your files)  Rename the files with .jpeg extension; And you have just successfully unlocked aka recovered aka rescued files. In-case you wanted to do this in windows with the usb storage mounted onto Windows, you have to go into the same folders specified and move the files to different folder  (Note that the visibility of known file types extensions are hidden in the  Folder Options in Windows, so you have to first disable this option and proceed to rename the files to .jpeg extension) Detailed instructions given below:

Hide_known_file_types

renaming

In cases like if you have groove installed in your system with the Office product installed, the chances of changing the file extension will be difficult, so I have addressed the same issue and came forward with the solution. See the below screenshots. The file association should be changed in the control panel to fix this case, once you change the file association to txt or someother type, you will be able to rename the extension from windows explorer context.

Once you are in the file association menu, change the file association to notepad and apply, then you are presented with the extension views for the .glk files in windows. See the below screenshots.

And that’s it! you are done recovering the files, either way; via Mobile or through Computer rescuing the files. Remember the Via Mobile files recovery here has been made through ES Explorer, a free File Manager to use in Android to explore the files and directories. Thank you. Welcoming Comments and queries
